EyeCatcher Flashbacks are priced to balance their role as functional art and advanced utility. Every piece is part of a new safety category born out of experimentation with an esoteric world of tape—where qualities like adhesion, durability, brightness, and ease of application vary widely. The process of designing each reflector takes these unique tape properties into account, making every item truly bespoke.

How Pricing Works

• Material Costs - The single biggest driver of material costs is the grade of reflective tape used, with brightness as the top factor. For example, SOLAS material is the brightest reflective surface on earth and can be seen for thousands of feet, but costs more than 6x standard engineering grade reflectives.
• Labor Costs - depend on the complexity of the design:

1. How many different layers are needed (adds assembly time)
2. How difficult it is to cut the chosen tape (some adhesive formulas are nearly impossible with consumer equipment)
3. The amount of “weeding” required (each piece must be hand-separated, a huge variable for intricate designs)
Most notoriously, the brightest SOLAS tape takes over 3x the labor for weeding—its adhesive is engineered for offshore survival gear, so every detail is a challenge.

Pricing Model

• US Flag, high prismatic but low labor due to pre-printing = $35

• Single color with weeding, engineering grade reflectivity = $40

• Multi-color with high prismatic/engineering grade mix = $50

• SOLAS grade single sheet (no weeding) = $50

• SOLAS with weeding (most labor intensive, highest reflectivity) = $75
